BRIDGE

This is a friendly group who play rubber bridge each week on Thursdays moving from house to house.  Mostly we run to two tables but occasionally there are only enough players for one.  We play seriously but don't take ourselves too seriously.  We welcome newcomers who have a knowledge of cards and would like to learn to play bridge.

Tuesday Bridge Group

There are a dozen regular members of this Bridge Group who meet every Tuesday afternoon between 2pm and 5pm.  We play in members' houses and the host provides tea and biscuits at half time.  Except on special occasions, such as 90th birthday parties, only one table is played at each home - hence there is no limit to the number of people who can play - eight players meet in two houses, twelve players meet in 3 different houses and so on.  In order to make this arrangement work, games are arranged one month in advance.

Our games are always friendly, in a relaxed domestic environment and we welcome anyone with a basic understanding of Bridge who would like to extend his/her experience.  We also use the Chicago scoring system, which is very easy but is also used in duplicate games - a good grounding before you join a formal club.
